Welcome to Muiredge Primary School and Nursery Class.

The school has a long and proud history serving the community of Uddingston and is part of the Uddignston Grammar Learning Community.  We have a beautiful school building that has been extended and refurbished to provide an excellent learning environment.

In Muiredge we work hard to ensure that all children are supported and encouraged to develop the skills and attributes which will allow them to reach their full potential now and in the future. We aim therefore, to make school a happy, supportive place in which your child will thrive and develop socially, emotionally, academically and physically. Most importantly this will all take place in a nurturing environment with positive relationships at the centre of what we do.

Partnership with parents/carers is central to achieving our aims and we look forward to working together with you to provide a rich and stimulating education for all our children.

I hope this website provides some key information about our school and enables you to follow our learning journey through our School app and Twitter.

February 2023 - We have recently enjoyed welcoming parents and carers back into our school building for 'Book and a biscuit' sessions. It has been wonderful to see lots of our children engaging in reading with their parents/carers. Check out our Twitter page @muiredgeps for some brilliant photos!

Welcome to Muiredge Nursery Class

Our nursery is part of Muiredge Primary School.  We can accommodate up to 48 children per session in our 3-5 years room.  We provide a secure and friendly environment where all our children are given the opportunity to learn through play.

Muiredge Primary and Nursery have a very active Parent Council. We meet on a Monday evening, within the school, once or twice a term. All parents are invited and warmly welcomed to join the school parent council and have their views heard. Our Purpose and Role is to:
  • To promote and celebrate the contribution of the school within the local community.
  • To work in partnership to create a welcoming school that is inclusive for all parents and pupils.
  • To promote partnership between staff, pupils and parents to improve and develop learning.
  • To develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils through fundraising and social activities.
  • To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.
  • To report to parents on the activities of the Parent Council in an informative and timely manner.

Keep an eye on the school app to find out when we are next meeting and we would be delighted if you could join us.
